About Us...........
My name is Carolyn, I live with my husband and Son and of course our animals, on beautiful Vancouver Island, BC, Canada. Originally from the UK, I grew up in a tiny corner of Wales where at about the age of 7, I dreamed daily of owning my own horse and had visions of a Kennel. How dreams evolve! Remembering the many times I travelled 7 miles on my bicycle to the riding stables where I worked all day, so that I could ride the horses and be invited to gymkhanas and have the opportunity to join in the local fox hunting event. I now find myself living out all of my dreams, owning 2 horses myself (not forgetting the donkey), living on beautiful Vancouver Island, breeding English Cocker Spaniels, there is nothing more I want in life. Having such a love for animals, as well as a passion for accomplishment, I decided that caring for animals and interacting with people who have the same interests as I, was what I wanted to do on a daily basis........therefore........Hooves 'n' Hounds.

Princess
Our beautiful, 6 year old Canadian Mare
I have been so lucky to find Princess. She, at only 6 years old is becoming the horse I always dreamed of. She is such a quick learner, loyal, willing, is fantastic on roads and trails and loves being ridden. We have a real bond, something I hope lasts for many years to come.

Jazz & Honky Tonk
Pictured here is Jazz, our 30 year old gelding, We recently lost Jazz to old age but he will remain forever in our hearts
Jazz and our old Miniature Donkey, Honky Tonk had been together since the beginning and we had promised they stay together. Jazz was a real Ladies man and truly lived out his senior years to the full. He was given a wonderful retirement home here with us.
Honky Tonk is just the sweetest old girl and continues to live happily with us and her equine and other friends . She is pictured here with Timbit, her Donkey friend
Baahbaa, our Sheep, was found homeless, we have given her a forever home, where she is very much loved. She spends her days hanging out with Hippy, our cuddly Alpaca
As animal owners and lovers, we understand the commitment involved in owning animals and we pride ourselves on the loyalty we offer to both our clients and their animals. With years of experience with horses and various others , we approach our business with kindness, tolerance, regardless of vices, acting on the belief that treating all creatures with the love and attention they deserve, creates a partnership of trust and respect. We have met some wonderful people on our journeys, who share the same love of animals as we do, it has been such a pleasure to meet you! Guinness and Colors
Guinness, our baby Clydesdale....I found Guinness among a huge herd of draft horses, destined for the Japanese meat market. He has that classic laid back draft charachter....
